Golf Course Superintendent St. Bonaventure University seeks to fill the full-time position of Golf Course Superintendent. Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, superintendent is responsible for directing the maintenance needs of the course and buildings, ensuring that the course is maintained according to professional standards, maintaining and repairing equipment and supervising part time golf course maintenance personnel. Incumbent must possess high school diploma or GED equivalency and valid driver’s license. Minimum of 3 years work experience in golf course maintenance preferred. General maintenance or grounds keeping and some experience in providing custodial services are required. Must possess NYS pesticide applicators license or obtain within 3 months of employment. | Hosmer Nursery Manager Tasks and Responsibilities: * Assist in the recruitment and hiring of the most qualified staff to meet the Garden Center needs. * Train and coach the staff in execution of daily tasks and to maximize sales. * Participate in administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives. * Coordinate sales promotion activities and pricing of merchandise. * Oversee preparation of merchandise placement and displays; responsible for third party merchandising execution. * Review operational reports and records to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures, monitor store profitability, and manage payroll budgets. * Ensure that proper channels of communication exist between various operating units. * Oversee compliance of merchandising staff with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company property, personnel practices, security, sales and record-keeping procedures, and overall maintenance of the Garden Center by performing required audits. * Help solve problems that affect the Garden Center’s service, efficiency, and productivity. * Plan and conduct monthly inventories, assuring that is accurate and complete. * Ensures compliance with all company safety programs and provides an atmosphere where safe work practices are encouraged. * Any other tasks as assigned from time to time.
