| Who are we? Are membership is comprised of over 100 superintendents, retired superintendent, and other turf managers from over 60 area golf courses and country clubs. We also have over 50 affiliate members from more than 30 businesses that support or industry by selling products or services. What do we do? The purpose of the Association is to promote and support the Golf Course Superintendent, to promote better turf for better golf in our community, and to further research and interchange scientific and practical knowledge relating to the care of golf courses and turfgrass operations, thus bringing about more efficient, economical, and, environmentally aware operation of golf courses in our community and increase prestige for this Association. How do we do this? We hold monthly meetings to promote the exchange of ideas between superintendents, and educational presentation from industry experts and researchers. One of the monthly meetings is completely dedicated to education, consisting of a full day of speakers discussing current topics and trends in our industry. In addition to continuing the education of our membership we hold an annual golf tournament to raise money for research grants and student scholarships for those entering the turfgrass field. We give away almost $10,000 annually. |
